Our Page Dedicated to Bobalot This page is dedicated to Bobalot. Our friendly 2 year old kitten who we had hoped to home unfortunately had to be put to sleep yesterday. We understand that this comes along with the territory, it doesn't make it any easier. We had hoped for a miracle and infact it would have taken a miracle for Bobalot to make a full recovery. He was close to the brink of death when he went missing for a few days back in October, thankfully when Marian was doing her rounds he came to her and she took him straight to the vet. He was found to have chronic FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease). The vet thought he was lucky to be alive at that stage. He had emergency surgery which lasted for two hours, we were advised against the surgery, but sometimes in your heart you've really got to give it a go. He made it through the surgery but unfortunately he was still blocking and kept getting urinary infections. Almost a month after surgery he was still finding it very difficult to go to the toilet and Maggie was having to sedate him and express the urine for him as he couldn't do it himself. We know this is not the life that Bobalot would want for himself and we understand that this must have been so painful for him. So we made the decision with the advice of the vet to put Bobalot to sleep. It's very sad as all his other bodily functions were working (that's what makes it more difficult). We thank Dr Maggie Bradley for her time and care with Bobalot through to the end. Writing this page is our way of healing and dealing with this loss, some people may think it's over the top but we don't think so. Every day we think about the cats we've lost, and of course the ones we've homed. Bobalot's time on earth was limited and perhaps he didn't have the greatest quality of life towards the end. We're thankful for the short-time we did get and we have comfort knowing that you were cared for for till the very end! Your home is now in heaven! We will miss you very much! Michelle & Marian
