Bitch's Life
My trusty companion for the past 10/11 years. There will certainly
be no other cat like Bitch. She was a bit of a diva with an attitude.
Even though she was a bit of a grump, she was infact a very affectionate
cat. I never thought I would loose her so quickly, I always thought she
would outlive us all, but it was not meant to be.
She was actually younger than I originally thought (guess she didn't age
particularly well; after all she did have the personality of a grumpy
granny at times). After looking through photos when I first took her home,
she was about 8 weeks old when I found her living in a park in Sai Ying
Pun - such a bundle of cuteness, who could resist? She was as lovable
as she was fiesty, she is/was a great character, hence her name "Bitch".
It seems a funny name to name a cat, but it really suited her well.
Bitch has been with me through it all, I feel like I've let her down,
as had I of known she was this sick, I would have spent more time with
her and perhaps sought treatment before it was really too late, I would
have eased back on fostering, so as not to stress her out so much with
all the foster kittens. She handled it like a trooper though, even though
she wasn't the warmest to all the foster kittens or cats that have come
into the flat, she was neither nasty nor provoking. She would pretty much
keep to herself. The times she enjoyed the most was when she was sleeping
on the pillow next to me on the bed or chilling out on the dog bed (she
loved that bed, poor ole Beefy had to squeeze on next to her). It was
very funny to see them both on it.
I will miss her greatly, I don't feel like any of our other three cats
are as close to me as she was (they all prefer the hubby or or too interested
in the foster kittens - which is good of course).
This is my tribute to Bitch, who I will love and miss forever. I will
be having her cremated,
and she will come back home and stay with me by my bedside. However strange
this may seem, it feels like it's the right final resting place for her,
as it was her favourite place. It's funny when it's your own cats you
know when it's time and you have to let go. I don't like seeing any animal
in pain, and unfortunately Bitch's final days were certainly not the easiest
for her.
Many thanks to Dr. Maggie Bradley of
9 Lives Cat Hospital, for being there during my early morning calls,
and helping put Bitch to rest. You made a very emotional and awful time
as peaceful and painless as possible.
Please enjoy some pictures of Bitch's life throughout the years:
